Photography as a business for me has been evolving for many years, from a combination of my life-long love for photography from film to digital; from countless family camping trips, club hiking and exploring there are invariably opportunities to capture images, some fleeting, some enduring. Sunrises and sunsets can yield tremendous ranges of colour and textures. Recently I have been experimenting cityscapes and night photography using just natural lighting.

As the photo-journalist for our family from the beginnings to today, I quickly learnt to enjoy portraiture as well (pets included).

We came to British Columbia in 1974, originally living in Vancouver. We (my wife Chris and our three young children) quickly learnt that the best camping spots for us were on Vancouver Island. My company transferred me to Winnipeg for several years, but when we had the opportunity we came back to British Columbia in 1991, specifically Sidney.

My landscape photography evolved as we travelled the Island, mostly camping: sunrises and sunsets and everything else in between.  There was (and still is) endless opportunities to try and capture beautiful scenes.  I built a couple of screensavers for my computer, and every so often someone would ask for a copy of an image they liked.

More recently I started exploring printing on different mediums, canvas worked really well as did polished aluminum.   People liked and sometimes bought my work and so Robin Dunn Photography came to be. I am always exploring the different mediums for printing, such as canvas, wood panels, aluminum metal panels, laminated prints, cards as well as photographic papers. Sizes can range from 4” by 6” prints to large canvas prints of 30” by 40” or more.

I’ve assembled the Gallery on my website to share some of my pictures with you. Please take a few minutes to view them and see if there is an image you would like to have. Costs will vary according to size and print medium.

Many of the images are available to view at my in-home gallery in Sidney, please contact me to set a convenient time for us both. That also gives us both an opportunity to better understand your interests as I have a large electronic library as well.

I also enjoy an active lifestyle, running, hiking, and yoga and also cooking, when I get the time!
